Make the most of your moves and make the most of the fact that there aren’t any time limits. This is quite a basic tip that you probably know if you’ve been playing Match 3 for a while – there are no time limits in most of these games. Matching in a square formation converts the pieces into a butterfly piece, which should be great if you’re trying to make a match in a tight spot on the board. You can also make your own butterflies if there aren’t any present and you’re dealing with some hard to reach paws. Sometimes, the paws will be prevented from being matched as usual, so there may be some cases when exclusively going for the butterflies and matching them would be your best strategy. How Do Butterflies Work?īutterflies are the game’s equivalent to free paws when matches, so you will also want to catch them if you see them. Summing it all up, you definitely want to create as many special pieces as possible, not only for clearing out the board faster and using less moves, but also for getting some of the more difficult to reach paws on the board. And when you match five in a row, that gives you a rainbow gem, which you can then match with any other gem so you can take out all the gems of that color. An L-shape match creates a special breaker, which match all pieces in their vicinity. A T-shaped match gives you an X-breaker, which takes out pieces in an X formation. You’ll know you’ve got one when they fire off a beam matching all the pieces in the horizontal or vertical line. A match of four pieces in a row gives you a Line Breaker, which takes out a horizontal or vertical line depending on how you made the match. The special pieces in Match 3 gems do generally the same or similar things, but in the best interests of filling you in further on the game, we’ll discuss them individually for you. The game allows you to recover relics, gold bars, and enchanted keys, and you’ll also have to avoid cursed stones and free caged gems. But like in other Match 3 games, SGN has included enough elements to make this game relatively unique compared to other titles in this very popular genre. Genies and Gems may seem like your average Match 3 title – you’ve got the gems, you’ve got the quirky characters (Jenni the genie and Trix the fox), you’ve got availability for both Android and iOS devices.
